Brief Statement of research work
My work centres on Applied Linguistics, with a particular focus on language learning, teaching, and assessment. I conduct empirical research on the cognitive, linguistic, and technological factors that influence language development, drawing on quantitative and mixed-methods approaches to generate evidence that informs educational practice.
My research interests include second language acquisition, English language teaching, language assessment and validation, writing and speaking development, vocabulary acquisition, psychometrics, educational measurement, statistical modelling, and the integration of artificial intelligence into language education. I am particularly interested in developing and validating assessment instruments, investigating AI-supported language learning and assessment, and advancing research methodologies in Applied Linguistics.
Through my research, teaching, and supervision, I aim to contribute to the development of theoretically grounded and practically relevant solutions that enhance language education, assessment, and educational research.
