Brief Statement of research work

I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Government College University Faisalabad, Pakistan, with extensive teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My research focuses on understanding contemporary social issues through empirical and interdisciplinary approaches, with particular emphasis on gerontology, ageing, public health, social policy, demography, gender, and community development. My doctoral research, entitled "Elderly Abuse: A Sociological Study in Punjab, Pakistan," examined the prevalence, determinants, and consequences of elder abuse, contributing to the understanding of the social challenges faced by older adults in Pakistan. This work has strengthened my expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, survey design, statistical analysis, and policy-oriented research. In addition to gerontology, my research interests include reproductive health, social inequalities, youth development, women's empowerment, digital society, and sustainable development. I have supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and actively participated in academic conferences, seminars, and collaborative research activities. My publications and research outputs aim to provide evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and community organizations. As a faculty member, I remain committed to advancing sociological knowledge through high-quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the mentorship of young researchers. My future research agenda focuses on healthy ageing, social inclusion, demographic change, social protection policies, and the application of innovative research methods to address emerging societal challenges at both national and international levels.
