Brief Statement of research work
Research Statement Dr. Nazia Malik is actively engaged in sociological research focusing on public health, gender studies, women empowerment, social protection, political polarization, digital entrepreneurship, and community development in Pakistan. Her research work particularly explores issues such as intimate partner violence, maternal and reproductive health, youth behavior, substance use, HIV prevention, and the socio-economic challenges faced by marginalized communities. She has contributed to several national and international research publications, emphasizing qualitative and community-based sociological approaches to address contemporary social problems and promote social welfare. Currently she produced nine ph.D students and more than 40 M.phil and 30 M.sc research students. Now she have about 70 national and international research papers. As well as she present her research work in different national and international conferences. She also won the certification of trainer from UNICEF for the safe discourse of gender based violence and also the disaster management and mitigation and research methodology from Akthar hameed rural development center Islamabad. Additionally she won three time research productivity award from her own university ( GCUF )

INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION |
Industrial pollution has significant negative impacts on communities living near industrial areas. Factories release harmful substances into the air, water, and soil, which can affect human health, the environment, and local livelihoods. Air pollution from industrial emissions can cause respiratory problems, asthma, allergies, and other serious diseases among residents. Water pollution from untreated industrial waste contaminates drinking water sources, leading to waterborne diseases and health complications.
Industrial pollution also damages agricultural land and reduces crop productivity due to contaminated soil and water. Livestock and wildlife may be harmed by toxic chemicals, affecting the local ecosystem and food supply. In addition, people living near industrial zones often experience lower quality of life because of noise, bad odors, and unsafe living conditions.
Social and economic effects are also common. Healthcare costs may increase due to pollution-related illnesses, and property values in polluted areas may decline. Vulnerable groups such as women, children, and low-income families are usually the most affected.

The project ???Women Empowerment through Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship in Low-Income Areas of District Faisalabad??? aims to improve the socio-economic status of women living in marginalized communities of Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. Many women in these areas face limited access to education, employment opportunities, and financial resources, which restricts their ability to participate in economic activities and decision-making processes.
This initiative will provide vocational skills training, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy to women from low-income households. The training will focus on market-relevant skills such as tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts, beauty services, and small business management. By equipping women with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge, the project aims to help them start small businesses, generate income, and become financially independent.
