Brief Statement of research work

I have diversified research experience as Geneticist, aqua culturist and human health related issues. My research over the past two decades focuses on fish nutrition and production, environmental toxicology, aquatic biology, fish health, biomolecular techniques especially fish proteomics and DNA stability and biomedical sciences. I am particularly interested in understanding the effects of industrial and agricultural pollutants including pesticides, heavy metals, and organochlorine compounds on freshwater ecosystems, fish physiology, and human health. My work integrates molecular biology, ecotoxicology, and applied biotechnology to develop innovative approaches for monitoring and mitigating these environmental and public health challenges. I have pioneered the use of non-invasive biomarkers, such as fish scales, cholinesterase activities, and DNA damage indicators, to assess the impact of pollution on aquatic organisms. Additionally, my research explores genetic polymorphisms associated with metabolic disorders, obesity, and cancer, linking environmental exposures to human health outcomes. In aquaculture, I have studied the effects of different feed formulations on growth, meat quality, fatty acid profiles, and reproductive health of major carp species, providing insights into sustainable aquaculture practices. Looking forward, I aim to expand my work in environmental genomics, biomarker discovery, and the molecular mechanisms of pollutant-induced toxicity. I am committed to integrating field studies with advanced molecular tools to improve ecosystem monitoring, enhance aquaculture sustainability, and protect public health. My goal is to conduct research that is both scientifically rigorous and directly applicable to environmental and human health challenges ( oncology and epidemiological studies).
