Brief Statement of research work

My research lies at the intersection of management accounting and financial accounting, with a focus on corporate governance, disclosure quality, and the reliability of financial information in emerging market contexts. In management accounting, I have explored how internal control systems and managerial characteristics shape organisational outcomes. This includes work on Management Control Systems, the influence of CEO personality traits on corporate disclosure behaviour, auditor characteristics and reporting quality, and the role of accounting information systems in supporting effective internal governance. In financial accounting, my work addresses earnings management, agency costs, capital market behaviour, and the growing influence of financial technology. I have examined how corporate diversification affects earnings quality, how agency dynamics interact with firm performance, and how geopolitical risk transmits across regional equity markets. More recently, I have engaged with FinTech adoption in Islamic banking and its implications for bank performance and risk management.
