Basic Information
Brief Statement of research work
I am an early career researcher working at the intersection of South Asian Anglophone literature, feminist theory, and the medical humanities, with a focus on gender, sexuality, and structures of power in the Global South. My doctoral dissertation examined the representation of prostitution in South Asian Anglophone literature, an underexplored area that remains culturally sensitive within Pakistan???s conservative socio-political landscape. I am the founding editor of Critique: Journal of English Language and Literature and serve on the editorial board of SAGE Open. I review for several international peer-reviewed journals published by major academic publishers, including Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, and SAGE, as well as leading university presses. Beyond academic scholarship, I write occasional op-eds on debates concerning the Global South, particularly gender-based violence, feminist movements, and marginalised voices. I also contribute to wider public discussions through invited media commentary, including an appearance on Art with World on PTV World, Pakistan???s national television network.
