Brief Statement of research work

I am serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) since 2011. My research is primarily focused on the Renewable Energy Materials & Device Fabrication, with particular emphasis on photovoltaic applications. A significant component of my work involves the synthesis and optimization of transparent metal oxide semiconductors, which play a crucial role in next-generation solar energy conversion systems. Another key area involves the growth and characterization of thin-film thermoelectric materials, including oxides and chalcogenides, to enhance energy harvesting, In addition, my research explores metal-induced crystallization (MIC) of amorphous silicon (a-Si) and germanium (a-Ge) thin films, which provides a low-temperature pathway for producing polycrystalline semiconductor layers suitable for thermoelectric and photovoltaic applications. Furthermore, my research includes the band alignment engineering of semiconductor heterojunction, particularly P-N and P-i-N junctions for diode and photovoltaic devices in conjunction with systematic investigation of interface properties, carrier transport mechanisms, and energy band structures, this work aims to improve device efficiency, stability, and scalability. Growth and characterization of inorganic perovskite solar cells aimed at enhancing photovoltaic performance, long-term stability, and device reliability through controlled material synthesis, thin-film deposition, and interface engineering.
