Brief Statement of research work
Working in the Social History of music , impact of migration on the art of Qawwali and Folk Music and seeking career as functional historian of Sufi and Folk Music with a special focus on post-colonial Qawwali and folk traditions of Lyallpur (Faisalabad) and highlighting the element of migration, innovations and contributions of early Qawwal gharanas of Western Punjab after Partition of Subcontinent in 1947. I am a researcher and practical musician of historical Sufi and folk music of South Asia, monetizing its continuity and blending it with current trends and innovations. I am eager to make worthwhile contribution to the organization/institution I work for and the people I work with.
