Brief Statement of research work
My research interests focus on the relationship between religion, politics, and state formation in South Asia, particularly in the context of Pakistan. I specialize in the study of religio-political movements, madrassa reforms, Islamic thought, governance, and democratic development. My research also examines sectarianism, radicalization, and de-radicalization within the broader framework of domestic security and state policy. In addition, I explore Sufism and shrine culture as models of religious tolerance, coexistence, and social harmony in Pakistani society.
I employ a qualitative and evidence-based research methodology that draws upon historical analysis, field interviews, surveys, and policy evaluation. My scholarly work contributes to ongoing academic debates on religious education, mosque???state relations, sectarian dynamics, and the role of religion in democratic and security discourses in Pakistan and South Asia.
