Brief Statement of research work

My research is grounded in a developmental psychopathology framework, focusing on how cognitive and affective mechanisms interact across development to shape mental health outcomes in youth. I am particularly interested in early risk and protective processes and how they operate within clinical, educational, and family contexts to influence adaptive and maladaptive developmental trajectories. Within this area, I also emphasize the development and validation of culturally sensitive psychological assessment tools that better capture psychosocial functioning in Pakistani contexts. In parallel, I am engaged in designing preventive and early intervention approaches that are developmentally informed and contextually relevant, particularly within school and family systems. Beyond research, I am committed to strengthening research capacity in Pakistan through training workshops and mentorship for researcher-scholars, and to promoting collaborative knowledge exchange across academia, community, and applied settings to translate psychological research into sustainable improvements in collective well-being and social responsibility.
