Brief Statement of research work
My research explores the development and application of nanoparticles as a potent strategy to overcome the global crisis of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Unlike traditional antibiotics, which often fail to penetrate dense microbial communities, these engineered nanomaterials exhibit robust antibacterial activity by utilizing multiple simultaneous mechanisms. A primary focus of the work is the inhibition and eradication of biofilm formation, the protective extracellular matrix that shields pathogens from both the immune system and conventional drugs. By leveraging their high surface-area-to-volume ratio, these nanoparticles effectively penetrate the biofilm architecture to deliver targeted therapeutic effects, offering a promising alternative for treating persistent, multidrug-resistant infections.
