Capacity Building of University Students by Improving Knowledge and Practical Skills on Biosafety and Biosecurity
|
HSP-STU-2020 |
Designed to sustain essential laboratory workforce readiness during pandemic-related academic lockdowns, this project established a remote, interactive training portal for emerging scientists. Serving as Co-Investigator, I co-developed a curriculum emphasizing baseline biorisk assessments, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and containment controls. The project successfully trained 50 advanced undergraduate microbiology students, maintaining continuity in biosafety education and fortifying early-career biosecurity practices.

Virtual Biological Waste Management Training
|
HSP-BWM-2020 |
ormulated as a rapid-response safety intervention during the peak disruptions of the global COVID-19 pandemic, this project targeted strict biosafety management and containment protocols for clinical lab staff. Serving as Principal Investigator, I developed and launched a dedicated virtual capacity-building infrastructure. The program successfully delivered intensive training on medical infectious waste segregation, safe transport, chemical disinfection, and autoclaving protocols, directly mitigating biorisks for more than 50 front-line laboratory practitioners.

Strengthening Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs)
|
HSP-IBC-2024 |
This project was developed to systematically optimize institutional oversight and improve structural biosafety governance across Pakistan's academic and diagnostic ecosystems. As the Principal Investigator, I designed and implemented policy-driven frameworks to train 25 core Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) members representing more than 10 premier public and private institutions. The training specialized in refining competencies for the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Dual-Use Research of Concern (DURC) risk evaluations, and the implementation of robust internal biosecurity compliance mechanisms.

Cyberbiosecurity Training for Life Science Researchers
|
HSP-CB-2023-COI |
Run in parallel with national biosecurity capacity-building efforts, this project focused on raising critical digital-to-physical risk awareness among postgraduate researchers. Serving as Co-Investigator, I collaborated on the multi-institutional rollout of technical workshops covering digital vulnerabilities, compliance-driven enterprise risk management, and secure data storage practices. The program successfully built structural resilience and technical technical workflows to fortify life science repositories against emerging cyber-biological vulnerabilities across Pakistan.

Cyberbiosecurity Training for Life Science Researchers
|
HSP-CB-2023-PI |
This project addressed critical governance and technical security gaps emerging at the nexus of artificial intelligence, frontier biotechnology, and digital infrastructure. As Principal Investigator, I successfully designed and executed a comprehensive nationwide training curriculum delivered across major university campuses in Pakistan. The initiative focused on building operational resilience, threat detection awareness, and regulatory policy enforcement, effectively safeguarding biological data and equipping over 230 postgraduate researchers and life science professionals with advanced cyber threat mitigation protocols.
